Wow, it's a combination of wonderful ideas and brilliant writing, making it impossible to put down. From the first sentence, I was enthralled and couldn't put it down, the hints of what is to come are subtle but give you an idea of what is to come; so when you get there, it's not out of the blue but it is still surprising.
The fantasy element is very intriguing but doesn't overpower the realness of the story, each tattoo of a girl, and reference to events in that world is beautifully crafted. The magic of the world is completely different from any other I've read or seen, yet there isn't just magic, it's also about the protagonists of the world.
Already I want to know so much more about the world but also how the plot progresses (the teaser leaves you on a bit of a cliffhanger). The emotion is so real and you can feel the characters and their thoughts.
