Divider characters, fun magic system - a great read!

I really enjoyed this fast-paced young adult story about a group of oppressed, used young ladies finding their freedom. I am a huge fan of triamphunt underdog stories and this one did not disappoint. I felt that the world was well built. I particularly liked the magic system and the unique language e.g. 'shine' for the currency. It made this world different from ours, but similar enough to make the link between the characters experiences and what young women might go through in a country not far from my own (or perhaps even in this country too). The story had some surprises that I did not see coming and seems to be built from a solid foundation based in equality and diversity. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it to others.
