Not usually a big fan of YA but this book actually surprised me and I really enjoyed it. The concept is really interesting, like the hand maids tail and a better version of the chemical gardens saga! The main characters were well developed and likeable, even violet redeemed herself! There is a lot of room for sequels, I’m curious to know what aster gets up to with the lady ghosts and I’d be really interested in reading a prequel and finding out more about the dustbloods and their story!
This story was well written, plenty of backstory and interesting well developed characters. I was hooked right from the beginning, I felt like I was on the journey with them, I felt their desperation, exhaustion and rage and was willing them to survive!
