i was more than a little apprehensive about starting this book as i’m not the biggest fantasy reader (i normally avoid the genre as i hate the whole world building), so this book felt right out of my comfort zone. but with as much energy as i can muster, i beg you to give this book a read. find it, buy it and read it.
it was so, so good. i cannot stress how much i loved it. there wasn't that much world building as i thought it would be, which is a blessing for me.
the book follows five women from poverty backgrounds forced into prostitution, and when one of them accidentally kills a man they escape for their lives. it’s fantastic. i loved the wild west vibe. i loved the friendships that the girls formed especially between violet and aster (high key ship them!). i just loved everything about this book. charlotte did such a good job and I'm looking forward to the second book! mwah. chefs kiss!
