I enjoyed the premise of this book, the idea of a future where young girls are sold into 'slavery', it felt almost like a younger Handmaid's Tale. However, the plot was predictable in most places and I found it hard to like the characters. Perhaps having 5 girls in the group, as well as one boy, meant that less time could be spent on each individual character and their development?
It would have been nice to have been told more about the context of the world in which they were living which was clearly different from our world.
The ending felt rushed and I would have liked a little bit more on what happened to certain characters, although I suppose the ambiguity allows the reader to imagine whatever they want.
The book was well written and it was a page turner I read it quite quickly as I wanted to know what happened however I don't think it reached its potential.
