I didn't really enjoy this book and I struggled to finish it though it sounded interesting and I love the cover. In some ways it reads like a young adult book but some of the subject matter is inappropriate for teens so I am not sure who it is aimed at.
The story is set in a fantasy world where children are sold into trafficking - at the beginning of the book the main character Clementine murders a man who has purchased her sister and the two sisters plus some other girls escape and try to find a safe place. I usually enjoy fantasy but the world building wasn't that good. I also found the story really slow and I was bored from quite early on. I didn't really like the characters either and I didn't connect with any of them. Sorry this just wasn't for me.
