This was a very solid read about a character struggling with her life and struggling with trying to be someone she isn’t due to her upbringing. It’s obvious quite early on that violinist Anna displays some autistic traits but she is clearly adept at trying to disguise them, she’s never considered the reason why she finds life different to others just pressured herself to fit in and this book does an exemplary job of showing life through her eyes. Quan is another character who is soaring professionally but struggling to get his life back together on a personal level after a health issue, his story was told sympathetically and as a person he’s just so caring you can’t help but like him. I really enjoyed this story from the start however when you start to see how Anna is struggling with pressure with her family and is scared of speaking up that I really loved the story and character and I felt this became a really heartfelt read.
