I normally like this book genre but after downloading four chapters as a first look I would not buy it. The introductory description of the characters is vague and lacking that connection to the reader that makes you want to read more about them. One of the main characters has a pet rock called Rock this is ripped right from an English Romantic comedy from 1989 called Shirley Valentine. I suddenly realise there will be very little originality in this book.
Yes it is fiction but it could try being somewhat realistic. A client would never have the door code to a shared medical building if they are meeting a therapist. Irritating was a reference to going home to get a "delivery" what happened to people ordering takeout?
This book gets off to a very slow start. The chapters do not flow well and the introduction to the second main character was clumsily placed. After reading 32 pages I would not buy this book.
