I was intrigued by this book as it was based on a real life robbery which took place in Sweden in 2009 (I had not previously heard of this crime). It is a debut novel in which a huge amount of research has obviously been made into the crime itself and the events leading up to it. The characters were vividly described and their back stories gave me an understanding and empathy towards them.
My only worry with books which are "based on" real life events is what is true and what is fiction. This novel works well in blending the real and imagined facts. The book is full of drama and excitement and I was genuinely rooting for the criminals!
The ending arrives with a clever little twist which I enjoyed. I will definitely look out for future books from this author.
