Who will win the race to the biggest robbery in Sweden?

The 2009 robbery of the largest cash clearance house in Sweden was a massive news item at the time. This work of fiction plots with relentless detail the tremendous efforts the thieves planned their heist. Each character is well drawn and gradually brought together over the months of planning and unless the reader can remember the news at the time, the outcome remains in doubt until the end. This is a well written first novel and while it’s based on a true story, the author, a well known Swedish publisher has used his imagination to draw out the protagonists into thoroughly believable figures. He also introduces some the political machinations we’re used to from much of previous fiction, including the Police officer trying to do her best despite her superiors. The only real complaint I have is at the end of the book, is that we never really know what actually happened to the thieves, those on the other side of the law and the politicians, or the competent and the incompetent!
