An historical novel of the best kind - great story and very atmospheric

I loved the tension and atmosphere that were generated from the first page. You were there in Elizabethan London and straight into a great story. I have already read and really enjoyed the last novel in this series and was delighted to have the opportunity to win a copy of book 4 of Nicholas' adventures. This is building to be another great well researched book the attention to detail is second to none. All the characters seem to be well rounded and within a couple of pages of meeting Bianca - Nicholas' now wife you would have enough information to move forward into this story without having read the other 3 "Mark" books in this series. Finally the book cover would certainly call out to me in a book shop as being exactly what it is a rattling good historical novel which I would love to read because I have to find out how Nicholas is going to get out of his latest scrape.
