The 16 th century is brought alive . The plotting of the powerful men around Elizabeth First is well portrayed. I certainly learned a lot about the Elizabethan court.
The characters of Nicholas, Bianca and Hella are well drawn . As this is the fourth book Nicholas and Bianca have become established characters and its good to see how their stories develop.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next installment.
