The Heretic's Mark set in London 1594 is set to be about the Queen's physician been executed for treason and there are tons of conspiracy theories spreading around about what happened. We learn about a man named Nicholas Shelby who is an unorthodox physician is accused of being part of this plot, because of this him and his wife must flee or their lives will be at stake. They head to Padua and the people of the Crown are out looking for them, along their way they are faced with many threats other than the crown, they met a religious young women who has joined them on their journey named Hella. They finally reach a safe spot and learn of Hela's predictions of an apocalypse. With a brutal murder of Bianca's friend they wonder who this women is and what are her intentions. This book seems right up my street as anything to do with historical, period times are my favourite type of books and I've never read one set in the 1500's before.
