I now want to read the rest of the series
This was my first time reading one of the Jackdaw series and I found myself very much interested in the plot and loving the writing style. I initially wanted to read this book because I'm a sucker for a stunning cover and good synopsis and this book offered both - let me tell you that for me, it did not disappoint!
Nicholas Shelby is facing false accusations of plotting to poison Queen Elizabeth I, and we follow him on his journey. I must say this book appears extremely well researched, with the author showing true interest in the science and religion used to fuel the journey The Heretics Mark follows. Some aspects of the book did have me wondering why they were included, without spoiling anything, there were areas where I struggled to see how they lined up, but regardless I found this a very enjoyable read.
The Heretics Mark has persuaded me to read the whole series, of course from now going in order! I am thankful for the chance to have read this book.
