I really enjoyed this book. Having read the previous book in the series, The Saracen's Mark, I have to say that I enjoyed this one even more.
If you haven't read the previous books, the author has written this book in such a way that it also works as a stand alone book.
It has been written in an 'old-fashioned' way, with what I imagine is the lingo of the 1590's. This was difficult to get into at first, but it worked well with the plot and really immersed you in Elizabethan London.
This is definitely a story for anyone interested in the late Tudor era and the conflict between protestant and catholic ideologies at the time.
The characters were written well and I really enjoyed the interactions between Nicholas and Bianca. As the story progressed and you found out more about Hella the mystery deepened and I didn't want to stop reading.
Would definitely recommend this book.
