I’ve read many HF but none set in England 1954. The descriptions within the pages brought the setting of London to life and the journey to Padua to my beloved Italy.
I loved every single character, from Dr Nicholas Shelby and his wife to Rose and Ned. Super easy to relate to them and sympathise throughout the trials and errors that they encounter.

Maybe the beginning was a bit slow paced, but overall a really compelling read and almost impossible to put down.

An extra, but still meaningful: the cover is beautiful, isn’t it? I can’t stop staring at it!
So glad I’ve managed to put my hands on a free copy, otherwise I would have missed out so much!
Probably I should have read the previous three books just to have a better idea on the events that lead to this, but still not essential. (I’ll definitely pick the 3 books in the series soon)

Thank you readers first!
