A very well written book- it drew me in from the start which I was not expecting as historical fiction is nor usually my cup of tea and I find myself having to put it down after a few pages- however the combination or well written characters well established setting that made me feel part of that world made me carry on reading.
I found it quite easy to get the idea of and the tone of the writing was quite comfortable and secure in the sense that it in a way felt right where if the past especially with historical works I felt as it it were a chore rather than what it should be which is reading for pleasure, however this was quite far from this and for once I found myself enjoying it and wanting to read on- it was a real page Turner and trickled information rather than a sea of over drawn info that had made me put down other book despite how wordy it was I felt this book was very good one
