Ok so the blurb completely sold me on this book, family holiday, murders, suspicion wrapped up in the family drama of a possible affair, sounds like that could be a good read.

The first impression was fine, it set the scene nicely, introduced the main characters and a bit of the necessary background without getting bogged down, which was good.

The actions, thoughts and comments seemed realistic and I think as the book progresses it has potential to be a really good family drama/thriller, but it was lacking a sense of menace or mystery in the opening pages, and even when the clues begin to be discovered I felt the pace failed to pick up to reflect the events that were occurring, so I'm not sure which side of the coin this will fall - murder mystery thriller, or an affair 'is he, isn't he?' family drama with a bit of murder thrown in.

Certainly has some potential though
