I really liked this extract as I like that it jumps quickly into the story, there aren't chapters of long-winded back story.
I I also really enjoyed the descriptions of the setting, I can clearly imagine the place in my head, which makes it easier for me to get into the book.
I like the cover as it just gives you the sense of a holiday, and it stands out enough that it would catch your eye in a book shop.
