Generally speaking, books based on relationships aren't usually my cup of tea. However, throw in a mystery to be solved and the possibility of crime and I'll admit, you've got my attention. The point the opening section cuts off at is enough of a cliffhanger that I'm wanting to know what happens next.
The book moves quite quickly as well, I found myself finishing the first look a lot quicker than I anticipated. This is aided by the dynamic of the characters. They all feel very realistic from the children to the adults and the way each character has a genuine personality and flaws that go along with it really adds to this.
So all in all, I'm curious to see how this progresses and how the darker foreshadowing comes to pass.
