The Holiday is a slow-burn mystery by T.M.Logan.
The story focuses on three families as they holiday together in a luxury villa in the south of France. Four of the women have been best friends for years and this get together is a regular occurrence, a way to keep in touch. But Kate believes her husband, Sean, is having an affair with one of her best friends.
But which one?
It soon becomes clear that Sean isn't the only one with secrets and Kate realises that it is not only her marriage that is at risk.

This is the first book that I have read by this author but I had heard good things and was excited to read The Holiday.

Firstly, I found that I did enjoy the writing style, and T.M.Logan is extremely good at creating a realistic and believable setting. Being in the South of France the setting was stunning blue sky and vineyards as far as the eye can see. I could almost feel the warmth of the sun against my skin. As it is a very wet and windy February here in England that was a very welcome escape!

Sadly though, I was a little disappointed with the story overall. It was just too slow-paced for me. That roughly 80% of the book is too drawn out and the action takes place right at the end, but because I found that I didn't like most of the characters It didn't matter that much what happened or to whom.
I know that many people love this book, and as I mentioned the author writes extremy well, but unfortunately this was just too slow paced for me.
