Four friends and their families set off for what is hoped will be a perfect holiday for them all. They have a villa in France, where they plan to spend days by the pool enjoying the glorious sunshine and each others company. One of the women, Kate, becomes suspicious of her husband and believes that he is having an affair with one of their friends, she spends a lot of time trying to figure out who it is. After various confrontations she gets closer and closer to the truth, and as the truth comes out a life is lost.
I enjoyed reading this book, I must admit at the beginning I did think the first part, all seemed to be about a woman who was totally paranoid about what her husband was up to, with all the checking up and investigating, but as it went on I became more and more drawn into the lives of the families in the story. Towards the end of the novel, the story had more twists and turns than a rollercoaster to keep the reader guessing right up to the end!
