I don’t like books that do this to me. Not at all.

I was both enthralled by this book and completely infuriated.

From the blurb we find out that Kate, the protagonist, suspects her husband of having an affair with one of her best friends. The book then plays completely on this plot, with every clue and every passing comment being somehow connected to her husbands affair.

It’s like the author wanted to keep us on our toes until the last 100 pages, and so every time we thought it was about to get resolved: another plot twist. The ending being absolutely not what you’d expect. I don’t know whether to be happy about this or annoyed.

Too many mixed emotions for me means it’s only having three stars because I just can’t deal with it. Either shock me once - and make it hugely shocking - or don’t try to shock me at all.
