Since leaving university Kate, Rowan, Jennifer who are all married with children and single Izzy have remained firm friends. This year Rowan has organised a week long villa holiday in the South of France for them to celebrate their 40th birthdays. Their husbands and children are also invited. Kate is dreading the holiday as she has found out that Sean, her husband, has been having an affair and feels that the other woman is one of her friends. She decides that she will spend the week finding out who that is. As well as this there is friction between the husbands and the children. The week progresses and Kate begins to discover the truth about Sean and who he is involved with. Sadly tragedy ensues and the friendships will never be the same again.
As well as the story of the women and their husbands, the children are going through their problems so making this a really interesting read from the point of view of all the characters.
