Really easy read which gripped from the beginning. I liked the characters and could identify with the holiday feelings. Didn't see the surprises coming and I generally enjoyed the thrills and spills.

It was particularly good to see the way secrets can impact upon others and read about how each family dealt with this separately. The use of teenagers and children in the plot was good in giving a different perspective.

I enjoyed the descriptive writing, the way each bedroom was explored and the general feel of the outside space meant I felt like I could have been there (it's true that I am really missing holidays in 2020). The excerpt of a person smoking on the balcony really hit me as I could imagine being there looking out over the gardens with a cigarette in hand.

The ending really concluded everything, there were no loose ends which is always good
