Not for me
This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I’m sad to say this did not grip me at all. It was a slow burner that didn’t really heat up for me. I purchased this book based on the blurb, and I’d heard so many good things about it. The book seemed to drag on a bit, and I’m pretty certain a fair bit of it could have been cut out. I enjoyed Isabel/Izzy character as she seemed pretty normal. The most annoying character was 10 year old Daniel who didn’t act like any 10 year olds I know, he was very much mummy this or daddy that, and his behaviour just didn’t ring true for me. The only bit that I felt was written with true heart was the authors description of Kate’s heartbreak at discovering her husband was having an affair.
