Not my usual kind of book but saw it advertised and liked the sound of the blurb.
It’s an interesting premise of 4 friends and their families heading off on holiday. What is expected to be the perfect getaway of course isn’t. I thought the book took a while to get going and the first quarter at least seemed a slow plod but at no point did I want to give up and not find out what happened next.
I found Kate a hard character to like and get on board with, most of the beginning of the book seemed to focus on her and her apparent paranoia and suspicions. Once the story gets going it has you gripped
I must say I preferred the later half of the book to the first, there are more plot twists and turns to keep you engaged and interested.
