Wow! As much as the characters would annoy me sometimes, they were definitely written very well, i like the dynamic of their friendship and the more mundane issues they believe they have like the whole affair thing, when truly there are bigger secrets at the surface. I think the setting of the book being in a different country with the vacation idea really adds to the mystery as they are getting to know their unfamiliar surroundings! This was for sure a more slow burn type of thriller book but it helped add to the plot and give more insight into each of the characters - primarily kate who we follow as she discovers secrets about her friendships and relationships. The children as characters were insanely annoying but i think it added to Kate's drama. Overall, a lot of twists and turns and eventually the plot twist at the end is one that shocks you!
