The cover attracted me to read the First Look instantly - gothic and intriguing. One of my favourite books is 'The Night Circus' and the opening of this book made me think instantly of that. The descriptions of the Mountfathom house are rich and filled with great detail. Already there is an air of unease and the idea that the Mountfathoms have enemies. I can't wait to read more.
