I was attracted to the cover of this book which is why I decided to give it a try.
The book is slow going in the beginning and not what I normally go for.
This book is set in a world with magic. The Mountfathoms live in "the world" with rooms that are named after places in the world, "the Amazon and Berlin". The author is very descriptive of the House of Mountfathom, and the people who come to visit and reside there. The Mountfathoms have just had a child who the story seems to be based on. The ending of the preview leaves you wondering about the mysteries behind the child and his parents.
