The book opens with some quotes which I thought was maybe just setting the to e but actually they set the scene as well. I thought this was a really interesting way to start so already I was intrigued.
The writing style shifts from present tense to past tense as the characters reminisce about their back stories. I thought this might become jarring but for the most part it flows well and it reads well.
There is a lot of characters so it feels almost like three books in one so I can't wait to see how all the stories meet and intertwine at the household the title seems to refer to. It will be interesting to see how the author manages all the different strands. So far it's off to a good start with each character having the same level of care and attention in being established and each story playing out with as much interest and back story as the other. I really want to read more.
