This has the feel of a Victorian gothic novel about it and that helps to create a mysterious atmosphere. Nobody really knows who anyone is and there are so many different ways the story can develop. I liked the way Charles Dickens had a cameo and the links to David Copperfield were a bonus Easter egg.
