First and foremost, the cover is so beautiful and captivating, although i try not to judge a book by its cover, with this one the endeavour is a difficult one. I love how striking the cover is with the wonderful red colour offset with the pretty, regal gold detailing, it really gives a sense of the book's setting and time placement, instantly drawing me in as well as due to the dramatic font and placing. The premise of the novel sounds very intriguing, original and unique. I love reading books about strong women and the characters in this seem, already, to satisfy this craving being well fleshed out and giving unconsidered point of views I think its really interesting that the book is set in victorian times but challenges the behavioural norms of the time by focusing on the types of women who were widely unconsidered in literature of the time. The mystery element of the book is also very exciting and is just leaving me needing more and needing to know what happens. Furthermore, the writing style is so interesting and lyrical, very smooth and pleasing to read. Overall, I'm very intrigued by this unique seeming novel and am eager to unravel and revel in the mystery of it.
