I love historical texts which truly transport you to the era. Especially the detail such as the use of custard glasses - it makes me then google search such items to imagine them in the house. I cannot wait to read the book
The treatment of women in the “old days” is so very interesting to me and also their treatment of wealthy versus non wealthy. Of course we have a divide in modern times but still not so apparent I feel. To have been a monied lady with the ability and want to change so many young lives must have felt such an honour. I love the empowerment of women. I am not a hard fast feminist or anything close but I do like to read about strong women helping those less fortunate to themselves. I have purposefully not said much about the storyline. See for yourself. If you like historical drama you will be hooked.
