This story is set in 1847 and around a house outside of London called Urania Cottage. The cottage offers a second chance for young girls who are chosen to learn skills like how to be a servant, cook, read and write after they have finished their jail sentences. One of the benefactors is millionairess Angela Burdett-Coutts who has just heard that her stalker of 10 years has been released from prison. As you read about the lives of the girls at the cottage and Angela, who is wary and worried that her stalker has not made contact and doesn't believe he has changed, you really get engrossed in the characters. The twists and how the two intertwine , despite their differences, are really good and keep you wanting to read more. I loved reading this historical book and would definitely recommend to everyone even If you don't normally read this genre.
