In London in 1847 a new social experiment is being set up by Charles Dickens and Angela Burdett Coutts of Coutts bank.
They are enlisting and training fallen girls from homes, the streets and prison to try to ready them for a life abroad in the colonies.
Amidst this Angela is suffering mentally from the ongoing stress of a stalker who has just been released from prison.
Though of great social divides she and the girls lives eventually mesh and they become like family watching out for each other.
This was an absolutely fascinating story steeped in fact and history blended with a cracking good story.
Loved this, haven't read a Stacey Halls I haven't adored yet.
