I really enjoyed the first look of this book and was so excited to read it. The storyline massively appealed to me. I was interested to know more about the various members of the family and was enjoying reading about their relationships and what was going to happen next to the lead character with his health worries, but I really felt it lacked pace. For me, the book was overly descriptive so as a result lost that "just one more chapter" factor or sadly even just one more page.
It got to the point where it was a bit of a chore and I didn't feel I was getting further into the story. I put this book down with the intention to pick it up again over the summer as a bit of a lazy beach read, but unfortunately it is still unfinished on my book shelf.
