Congratulations to Laura Lee Smith for writing such a hugely complex novel. I’m not sure whether my overall impression of this book is funny or sad, it competes for both of these emotions in equal measure.
This is a story that covers everything it is to be human. Stress, relationships, addiction. I think anyone could find sections of this book that they could relate to and you with fail to empathise with at least one of the characters.
The only struggle I had with this book was while I felt that large sections of the book passed really quickly and were engrossing, other sections felt like filler to try and slowly wade through to get to the good bits- overall a very worthwhile read though.
