Personally, "The Ice House" was not my favorite book. I was intrigued by the premise of family ties. The drama of a family falling apart is fiction that I typically would enjoy reading. However, I think this book tried a bit too hard to be edgy, to be different, to stray away from other plots similar to this style.
I did not really enjoy any of the characters. I think with this type of story, there should be at least one character that the readers can relate to, but I did not find a relatable character that I enjoyed.
I think in five years time, perhaps after I have started a family, I'd consider reading it again. Maybe my young perspective is limiting me from enjoying all this book has to offer.
