The book is set in the 17th century, I am interested to see whether the politics of the time make an impact on the plot of the book as that is not clear from the first impression, and as a historical fiction I think it should mention some of the big events of the time that occur during Ursula's life as they definitely wouldn't pass her by given her chosen profession!
The character of young Ursula is well written given the historical context and I would read on to find out where her life takes her.
