A light coming-of-age historical novel set in seventeenth century England. Ursula's character was lovable, witty and intelligent. With an interest in play-writing, Ursula begins to walk down the path of maturity and independence. At a time where males dominated, Ursula's character desired to surpass stereotypes and develop into a head-strong feminist. The style of writing was perfect for the era it was set in, and the values of the characters of that time were well defined. The diary entries were a great bonus, allowing the reader to delve into Ursula's thoughts and feelings.
The cover of the book was very beautiful and really drew my attention. I highly recommend and look forward to reading the author's future novels.
