The blurb promises a good novel, sounding a bit lord of the flies or hunger games type thing I would guess? and the Nice simplistic cover works really well . Actually did a better job of making me look at it in detail than some of the busier ones you see.

Right hands up who read the first few pages and found the characters voice and views very similar to their own? (Hopefully not just me :D )

Leaps straight into adventure with a plane crash before catapulting back to way before what is obviously going to be the catalyst of the book and introducing the setting and characters, who is very well written and believable.

Sadly though the rest of the first impression is all just introducing characters and expanding on the lead characters life and personality.

All very valuable when your reading the full story but for the first impression and such a short glimpse of the true story and plot points, it just seemed a bit slow paced and that the author was grabbing at stereotypes and cliche's to rush the intro and get on to the later chapters

Don't get me wrong, from the blurb and the opening pages, and the final page, this book has a lot of potential and I'd be interested in the full thing, but I can't give it 5 stars from the content given sadly.

It's just fell short of 4 stars for me because I think premise is there, it's just not evident in the couple of chapters of this first impression.
I'd definitely read this book though and would hope to give the full novel a much better rating when M. A. Bennett has explored the full story and potential I think this will be capable of.
