Imagine Lord of the Flies, The Hunger Games and The Truman Show all wrapped up into one, and this is what you get! A great concept, which I think they should roll out for real! Essentially this story is about a boy, Link, who is bullied. He agrees to participate in the "Preparation For Life" program on the understanding that once he had completed that he could leave school forever. 6 other candidates are chosen, all of which were children who currently bullied or ignored him at school. Like the Breakfast Club, you had a character from each group; jock, cheerleader, emo, nerd, etc. After a plane crash they wake up on a desert island to find they are the only humans there. The dynamics of the group take a complete U-Turn and Link finds that he is soon the leader, he holds all the power, but can he use it for the greater good, or does it mean he can get his long awaited revenge! Fab story, orientated around all aspects of bullying, and the struggles of teenage hood. Love the references to Lord of the Flies and Desert Island Discs. A great modern day twist on a classic story.
