As soon as I’d read the blurb on the back of this book I knew there was a chance I wasn’t going to like it. It’s not too bad of a book but if I’m honest I definitely prefer lord of the flies. The main character Lincoln or link for short is your normal geeky guy who attends a snobby rich kids school, and from the get go he is made to feel like a slave. I think this book is like every other teenage classic, there’s the cliques what you’d find at any school, (jocks, nerds, preppy, etc.) However I did like how he talked in the past tense when he was first talking about joining this school. My favourite character has to be flora, she seems to be the only nice girl at this school but is always pushed to the side. Not my personal cup of tea but if you’re looking for a more modern take on lord of flies with a bit of comedy then this is for you.
