Disappointed

I was looking forward to reading this book and I really enjoyed the first part, but found I was disappointed by the second half.

The idea that it was all an elaborate social experiment felt, in my mind, contrived. It was obvious from the time Link woke to find his bad tooth had gone that they were not alone on the island and that nothing bad could happen to them. Which took away some of the anticipation from the book.

I liked the character of Link a lot I thought he was well thought out and recognisable. However, his behaviour with the girls, making them ‘serve’ him felt out of character. I don’t think that with his upbringing he would have done that.

The ending, it was farcical. But then perhaps this book was written with the intention it should become a film?
