This book, the island was an interesting read. It was a book that was based on some of the ideas from Lord of the flies. It kept the idea of a group of children being trade on an island and it showed how each character reacted differently to being isolated from the outdid world. Suggested by the title the children are trapped on an island and have to struggle to learn how to survive on their own. The main character was someone who was an outsider from the rest of the school and due to the trip and the events that lead to a group of the children being stuck on the island they had to adapt and either get along with everyone else and make friends or be completely left on his own on the island where the would hunt them down.
