I loved the idea of this book and the concept however I didn’t fully get along with the execution. This book is based on the lord of the flies by William Golding and although I haven’t read that novel I understand the idea British boys stranded on an island and having to fend for themselves . I was excited to see a more modenized version however for me the book still seemed very wordy and I found it hard to get into .

This book follows a group of six teenagers who get stranded in “paradise” and have to fend for themselves. As readers we experience the changes in their social heirachy and the relationships forme and change between characters this was very interesting to witness and I found it very enjoyable . There is a large caste characters and we get to see each one individual thoughts and take on the situation.the author showed clear differences between the charecters and I never found myself confused as to who I was which is quite often in multi perspective books .

You are submerged right into the action of the book as you start off on the island stranded and then halfway through the book there are flash backs to before the island and how things were back home . Due to the book constantly moving I found myself having difficulties fully getting into the book therefore it took me a lot longer to read than the average ya book .However there are lots of twists and turns and it is an exciting read!!
