You are submerged right into the action of the book as you start off on the island stranded and then halfway through the book there are flash backs to before the island and how things were back home . Due to the book constantly moving I found myself having difficulties fully getting into the book therefore it took me a lot longer to read than the average ya book .However there are lots of twists and turns and it is an exciting read!!It’s a novel you either really like or really dislike, I don’t think there’s an in between with how niche of a style and occasionally cliche The plot was definitely the most intriguing part with the main character’s and his peers being left on this island alone. The enigma was one of the reasons what kept me hooked and turning page after page, although maybe it’s my age but there were quite a few old style inter textual references that I felt I didn’t understand, but honestly it made the book all that more entertaining.
