I was gripped from the first page. I love a story about an underdog who overcomes struggles and challenges in their lives and this was no different. The story focuses on the main character Link who is bullied from the off in his new school. When him and his class mates get stranded on an island after a plane crash Link overcomes his anxieties and becomes the island leader. It was great to see how he stood up to the jock bully and made himself needed by the other characters for his talent in basic life skills such as lighting fired and catching and cooking food for the camp. However Link takes things a step too far in his treatment of the females in the group and good lesson in how power can go to your head. For fans of the series Lost this is a must read.
