This story is fantastic, and it's worrying how easily you can believe the events that unfold. The characters are real and flawed, and at times frustrating (especially Link, who at times I just wanted to shake!) but that all contributes to make it an even more fascinating read.
There are several twists, and I definitely didn't see them coming. The ending wasn't entirely satisfactory, but did answer a lot of questions and the rest was so good I didn't mind that the ending seemed a little odd.
I thought this was a very good modern twist on Lord of the Flies, and was different enough to be very much it's own book rather than a retelling. The writing was fantastic and I was sucked in already within the first few pages.
